Archive for February, 2025
February 1st was a very busy day. I saw and met many people.
The only two things I didn’t get to do were fly (due to wind and weather conditions), and go in the pools. I was glued to the TV watching Erik’s incredible hockey game. 75 shots were fired against him (his time had 25 shots on the opponent), and he faced five power plays! They lost 3-2 in the second overtime on a power play. This kid will make me grey before I know it!
After the game, I went to the T-Bar with Frank, which was a fun night.
The next day I spent some quiet time alone, which was nice and allowed me to reflect on Penny’s passing. I got up and skied again the Spirit Loop at 7:00 am, then headed up the mountain for a flight, and finished the day with another ski run.

A year has passed since Penny left us, though it feels much longer.
To honor her memory, I dedicated this day as “Penny Powers Inspirational Day,” simply by doing what we normally would on a typical February day.
This helped us, and I know many others, to remember her and carry on her spirit of life and adventure.
Thank you to everyone for thinking of Penny and participating in their own way.
A big thank you to Guy Paulson for opening the Panorama Spirit Loop, allowing us and others to honor our loved ones—what a wonderful idea!
I enjoyed the day so much that I did it again the next day and will continue to do so.
Katia spent the day snowboarding with friends and me, and Erik played hockey—just as we would have done if Penny were here.
She may have left this earth, but she remains in our hearts and will always be with us.
